The Retreat allows guests the option to cater for themselves or enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Satinay Bar and Bistro.
The Bistro is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and provides snacks and takeaway meals throughout the day. The retreat complex is constructed from local Fraser Island timbers and provides guests with indoor/outdoor dining options and a comprehensive convenience store for all your everyday needs.

                       Fraser Island Retreat - Happy Valley (R)
  
 Happy Valley Resort was midway along the Eastern Beach of Fraser Island, was established in the 1930’s. A Resort was commenced during that time but failed due to the economic depression. Until the 1960’s Happy Valley was hust a small, shabby collection of fishing shacks. Once established, the settlement expanded rabidly.
Happy Valley Resort was built in 1985. Constructed from natural Fraser Island Timbers including Satinays, the Resort comprises nine Timber Lodges nestled into the hillside of Happy Valley, with an outdoor entertaining area with Pool, BBQ facilities, Satinay Bar & Bistro and a convenience store.
The present owners, the Boyd Family, bought Happy Valley Resort in 1992, later renaming the Resort to " Fraser Island Retreat ".
